ACER SNOWMEC'S SERVICE
Acer Snowmec prefers to provide a full “Cold Area” design package but will
under certain circumstances provide a minimum package of cooling and
snowmaking, this however produces a “split responsibility” in this specialist
area and is not in our opinion in the Client’s best interests.
Under the full “Cold Area” consultancy with all aspects under a single point of
responsibility we include:
- Insulated Walls, Ceiling and Floor.
- Cooling and Ventilation of Cold Area.
- Snowmaking and Retention.
- Ski Lifts and Travellators.
- Snow Grooming and terrain forming equipment.
- Snow Melting.
- Slope Lighting and MEP Items in the cold environment.
- Fire Engineering (the cold area will not comply with local fire codes).
- FIS (Federation International de Ski) accreditation of individual runs.
- Theming and Interior Design.
Acer Snowmec will use local or international codes in the design process and
works under either RIBA, AIA or other locally acceptable design processes.
The design is usually split into the following stages:
Initial Appointment Stage
- Concept Master Planning
- Feasibility Study
Main Design Stage
- Concept Design
- Schematic Design
- Detailed Design
- Tender Process
- Construction Documents
- Construction Administration
Post Design Stage
- Attendance During Commissioning of Main Systems
- Commissioning of Snowmaking System
- Attendance During Initial Snow Layer Production
- Annual Maintenance Audit Visits and Off Site Monitoring.
